weekend reading

Beautiful Friday! Welcome.

It is straight up spring here in Dallas (and even borderline summery) and it is doing my soul good. I always think I am a winter person until the spring comes and then I can't get enough of the sunshine. I will say that I do miss the cozyness of winter, but nothing beats eating as many meals as possible outdoors.

Links for the week!

The producers of Serial and This American Life released a new podcast this week, S-Town, and I listened to nothing else for 3 days. I loved that released all 7 episodes at once. I really hope other podcasts start doing the same. I found out that the (excellent) theme music was composed by a Dallas musician, from a local band that I like, Dark Rooms

One of my besties came over this week and was wearing a really cute and simple ring. I asked her where it was from and she said Fine Life Co. I pulled up the website and I now want everything. Some faves: this ring, these earrings

The above mentioned bestie has been rocking some adorable glasses lately and told me about Eye Buy Direct. I finally went to the eye doctor to update my glasses prescription and I got these cute floral frames and a pretty and simple case. I am loving them and I foresee a few more cute (and super cheap) pairs in my future!

As I am sure I have mentioned here once or twice, I have a thing for constellation-themed objects. I have long been obsessed with celestial-themed things, before it was cool (#hipster). I remember having a bandana in elementary school that I really loved that had the sun, moon, and stars on it. I need to dig around and see if I can find it, but in the meantime, I have really been enjoying finding some online. one. two. three (I am especially obsessed with this one but it appears it was a limited run for a Portland-based band and I'm not sure I can figure out how to buy it! dang it!). four. five. And of course, and DIY rendition from one of my favorite companies

I've made mention of here that I often get crafting-related pain in my fingers, hands, wrists, and forearms. Knitting really seems to set it off the worst, so I was really happy to see this week that 1. I am not the only one, and 2. that another knitter blogged about some very helpful stretches for knitting pain! I'm at the point right now where I know I need to take some anti-inflammatories and lay off the knitting for a week, which I hate to do, but it will be good for me in the long run.

How cute is this knitting project bag?!

Remember hygge? I'm still hygge-ing it up even in the spring. Here's a good post about living the hygge life when it's not winter

Just like the rest of the world, I am into shibori-dyed things right now and I thought this tutorial was excellent for a noob like me. I really wanna make an indigo dyed scarf. I'm planning on using one of those super soft and light Aden and Anais blankets. Yes, it's a baby swaddle blanket, but nobody will be none the wiser when it's all shiboried!

Have y'all heard of PF Candle Co.? If not, you must check them out. Their candles smell soooo good. This week they were featured on another blog I like and they did a little interview. I really liked reading about their history and their favorite scents. I'm going to be hunting around this weekend for one of their room sprays.

And finally, a book I finished this week and a book I started this week!

I'm off to enjoy the weekend and hopefully catch up on some tv as well as some zzzs!
