Happy Friday, friends! I had the day off today, so I have spent a lot of time on the couch, catching up with my DVR. Not a bad way to spend the day off!
-Courtney Kendrick is one of my favorite bloggers. She always tells it like it is and she has a powerful voice. I love everything she writes, but her Asterisk post this week was just so good.
-This week I read Luckiest Girl Alive. It was...strange? Disturbing? I'm not sure how to describe it exactly. It was definitely a page turner, though I will say that the writing wasn't my favorite. Once I finished that, I started Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes. I love her TGIT shows, so I am interested in reading about her life and how those shows came to be.
-Speaking of tv shows, Flesh and Bone premiered on Starz this past weekend and it is really good. I don't know what it is about ballet movies and tv shows, but they get me every time. This one is just the right about of dark, so I'm hoping it stays that way because I just can't handle too much darkness! I watched like 4 episodes of Breaking Bad and then had to stop because the violence was too much for me.
-Girl talk. I liked this New York Times article, but I couldn't help but think that none of this is new information. Women have been talking about their periods for centuries, if not millennia. It has always been a shared experience. If you get a group of women together, they will inevitably end up talking about their periods, whether an app is involved or not.
-And finally, I put a few crafty things on my Christmas wish list, like this adorable antler fabric, this gorgeous yarn kit from Purl Soho in the Anemone colorway, and Jeni Baker's half-square triangle book.
I hope everyone has a fab weekend!
